Partly due to its hidden complexities which can easily be misinterpreted, it is important to seek out a Master when learning t’ai chi to its full capacity.

With over 40 years of teaching, Master San Gee Tam has established classes in England, Belgium, Holland, Siberia (Omsk) and in his USA home in North Carolina. He trained privately with Master Chu King-Hung and Master Dong Zeng Chen, 3rd generation Yang Style Master and grandson of the famous Tung Ying Jie.

He has worked extensively with Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) who first gave him his name, San Gee Tam, which means Celestial Music (San Gee Tam was trained as a musician). Later on, he worked with Taoist Master Hua-Ching Ni who bestowed, once again, the same name on him but this time in Chinese it means “One Whose Life Benefits All people”. He acknowledges that he has made the Golden Flower School for all of us, for co-creating together.

It is not about making an elite school, not about making rules, but about bringing awareness to a dispersed local community: we all have a purpose, together; our energies work together; one can feel it when we are training together at various locations, locally and internationally.

The Golden Flower Form

San Gee Tam’s integral “Golden Flower” method, including t’ai chi and self-cultivation, is a unique system, comprehensive for Westerners and accessible for anyone with an open mind. Education and on-going training of Golden Flower t’ai chi instructors is his highest priority, because it is his intention to make the unique benefits of the Golden Flower teachings available to anyone. Learning t’ai chi is a process of personal evolution for instructors as well as for the students.

The idea is to help as many people as possible to improve their health and realise well-being in their lives by making available effective and efficient tools. These tools are based in the wisdom of the ancients and thus have highly developed roots.

His wife and Master, Annukka, helps San Gee Tam create and run his classes and workshops. Annukka is a mentor in Master Ni’s organisation, the USIW, and is dedicated to promoting his work.
